In today’s business climate, enterprises want solutions that give them the flexibility to manage and deploy their data anywhere – whether it resides in their datacenter, in an on-premise facility like a remote or branch office or in the public cloud.  Cohesity’s software-defined DataPlatform gives our customers the flexibility to easily meet these requirements.  This provides our customer with piece-of-mind that regardless of where their data is stored today or in the future they can use our platform seamlessly across their on-premise and cloud environments.  As more enterprises have adopted using the public cloud like Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the challenges they have faced is that not all data can be stored in the public cloud due regulatory requirements or the need to process the data locally like in factories or remote offices.  To meet this need, AWS introduced AWS Outposts.  AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to virtually any datacenter, co-location space, or on-premises facility for a truly consistent hybrid experience.  At 2019 re:Invent, AWS announced general availability of AWS Outposts and Cohesity was one of the selected partners who validated their data management solution with AWS Outposts.

Today, we have worked with AWS to achieve the AWS Outposts Ready designation, part of the AWS Service Ready Program. This designation recognizes that the Cohesity DataPlatform has demonstrated successful integration with AWS Outposts deployments and provides Cohesity customers additional flexibility to protect and manage their data.  The AWS Outposts Ready Program helps customers identify products integrated with AWS Outposts and allows them to spend less time evaluating new tools, and more time scaling their use of products that are integrated with AWS Outpost deployments.

AWS Outposts Ready designation differentiates Cohesity as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member with a product fully tested on AWS Outposts. For our testing with AWS Outposts, we focused on backup and recovery of AWS Outposts EC2 data and long term retention of AWS Outposts backup data to Amazon S3.  These use cases provide AWS Outpost customers the ability to easily recover data in case of user or data corruption for business continuity and store long term data in Amazon S3 based on their data retention requirements.  We also validated using the DataPlatform for Cloud deployed on AWS Outposts and in AWS which provides our customers the flexibility to choose the deployment scenario that best fits their business needs.

By being part of AWS Outposts Ready Program, Cohesity customers are assured that Cohesity has validated the DataPlatform with AWS Outposts and provides our customer more choices whether they are running workloads in AWS, VMware Cloud on AWS or AWS Outposts.
