Cohesity Appoints Brad Newton as Head of Australia and New Zealand

Former DocuSign APAC, Symantec, and Citrix Executive Brings Over 20 Years of Management Experience to Further Accelerate Cohesity’s Growth

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – February 25, 2021 – Cohesity today announced that Brad Newton has joined the company as the managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Newton, based in Sydney, is responsible for expanding sales and deployment of Cohesity solutions across Australia and New Zealand, as the software company radically simplifies modern data management, expands its cloud services, and enables organizations across the region to do more with their data.

“What Cohesity has achieved in a short space of time is really impressive,” said Newton.

“Business operations and IT have changed dramatically given Covid-19, with leaders looking to lower their expenses, support critical IT functions remotely, and accelerate the transformation of legacy data infrastructure that can be complex and time-consuming to manage. To stay competitive and thrive in these times, customers need to modernize their data management strategy. Cohesity’s innovative data management approach is unlike anything on the market today in terms of scale, breadth, and choice. I look forward to working with the Cohesity team and our outstanding partners to deliver even more value to our customers in a multicloud world.”

Newton brings over 20 years of sales leadership experience across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia Pacific region. He joins Cohesity following six years as vice president for APAC at DocuSign, which provides digital transaction management, where he developed a strategy and business plan for the region and drove impressive execution, achieving revenue growth and cost targets. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer at Hills Limited, an Australia system integrator for consumers and businesses. Newton has also held senior enterprise sales positions at Symantec, Citrix, and Avaya.

The hire of Newton follows an expanding data management market in Australia and New Zealand, estimated to be worth around AU$700 million. Cohesity aims to gain further market share from companies still wedded to outdated legacy infrastructure that perpetuates the critical challenge of mass data fragmentation. Cohesity can also help customers in the region accelerate their move to the cloud, improve compliance, and enhance their security postures against ransomware attacks.
