New enhancements include data protection for VMware vSphere 9.0, secure protection of VMware data in Microsoft Azure.
A new chapter for VMware customers kicks off this week at VMware Explore. Cohesity works closely with Broadcom to deliver innovative cyber resilience solutions that keep pace with the demands of our joint customers. We have a proven history of supporting the largest VMware deployments in the world, and we continue to invest in providing the best cyber resilience solutions for the world’s most important brands.
Here are three new capabilities for VMware customers that are now generally available in Cohesity Data Cloud:
VMware released vSphere 9.0 as part of VCF 9.0 in June. As you plan your migration approach, Cohesity is here to support you. Cohesity DataProtect 7.2.2 adds vSphere 9.0 as a supported data source.
Cohesity delivers superior outcomes for cyber resilience in VMware environments in these five areas:
We’d like to highlight another “S,” particularly for VMware shops—savings. Cohesity’s compression and deduplication technology delivers the lowest total cost of ownership for modern cyber resilience deployments. Protect and secure more data, with less gear. This is especially important in an era where every budget line gets scrutiny, and data center space is at a premium.
Many organizations running VMware on-premises face challenges in securing offsite backups, protecting critical data from cyberattacks, and meeting compliance requirements across geographies. Cohesity’s fully hosted model removes the burden of backup cluster setup and storage maintenance. Cohesity DataProtect as a service now enables direct, secure backup of VMware workloads to Microsoft Azure, with global coverage and immutable storage for enhanced security.
You can choose from 11 different Azure regions around the world, giving you more flexibility to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
Getting started is easy—the workflow features Cohesity’s trademark simplicity. Log in, select the Azure region of your choice, and securely connect your on-prem VMware vCenter. Once configured, backups are automatically and securely stored in the designated Azure region, with built-in immutability in our data platform.
Many responsible enterprises have a cyber resilience plan. But these plans are not tested nearly enough because it’s too hard to conduct tests under real-world conditions. It’s a significant investment, and it’s tough to repeatedly run through response playbooks using traditional, manual methods.
Cohesity RecoveryAgent, now GA, aims to change all that, and it’s especially relevant for organizations with VMware estates.
RecoveryAgent is a blueprint-driven recovery orchestration engine. It helps IT and security teams prepare for and respond to disasters and cyber incidents with confidence. Instead of stitching together manual tasks and hoping for the best, RecoveryAgent lets you design workflows that do the heavy lifting for you.
Use RecoveryAgent to automate your VMware recovery process, validate your environment, and ensure the data you restore is clean and safe. The process to build, create, and refine workflows with RecoveryAgent will be intuitive for those with VMware experience. In particular, setting up a Recovery Group and creating a Blueprint should feel familiar.
When you can automate a complex workflow, like cyber recovery, you can do it faster. And when you can faster, you do it more often. And with each iteration of a “rehearsal,” you find ways to get incrementally better each time. These improvements add up over time, leading to a greater cyber resilience maturity, and more important, a better overall posture for your organization.
