Career Growth, Community, and Culture: Meet the Voices of Vida

Career growth doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens when people find a community that reflects who they are, backs them when it counts, and enables them to do their best work. It’s the people around us who provide the foundation of support to help us reach our greatest potential.

Cohesity Belonging Communities, like Vida, our Latinx Belonging Community (an employee-led community open to everyone), offer opportunities for connection, support, and a sense of shared pride. When we sat down with three leaders of Vida, as they celebrate Latinx Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, we found that their stories exemplified the importance of community to career growth. We asked them about their Sales careers at Cohesity, what's kept them here, and what being part of Vida has meant along the way. Their answers reveal something bigger than one month of recognition. They demonstrate how culture and career intersect, day to day.

Career journeys in Sales at Cohesity

Aline

My journey at Cohesity has been a story of growth, resilience, and purpose. Today, I am incredibly proud to lead the largest team in Latin America.

I won Global Sales Leader of the year in 2026. Winning was a very emotional moment for me. It felt like a gift, a recognition that all the involvement, engagement, dedication, and passion I had invested over the years had truly been worth it. But I did not see that award as mine alone. I saw it as a reflection of the people around me: my team, our partners, our customers, and the leaders who believed in us. It reminded me that results matter, but how we achieve them matters just as much.

What makes me proudest is knowing that my career growth at Cohesity has never been separated from the growth of others. Every milestone has been connected to building a stronger team, creating more space for Latin America, and showing that leadership can be ambitious, human, and deeply committed at the same time.

Filipe

What drew me to Cohesity was the feeling that I could bring everything I'd learned in data protection and still be challenged to grow.

Today, I work with strategic customers, and I value being part of conversations that matter to their business. But growth here has also meant finding opportunities beyond my role: learning from people across the company, taking on new challenges, and contributing to Vida. I can see more than one path ahead of me at Cohesity.

Beatriz

I joined Cohesity with a passion for helping sales teams operate more effectively and make data-driven decisions. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to take on increasingly broader responsibilities across Sales Operations for Latin America, partnering closely with leaders across the business to drive growth, improve forecasting discipline, and support strategic planning.

One unique aspect of my journey has been the opportunity to work within different organizational structures. I initially reported into the European organization and later transitioned into the Americas team. Despite those differences, what stood out across every team was a shared focus on excellence, trust, and delivering results together.

Today, as Director of Sales Operations for Latin America and a leader within Vida, I have the privilege of helping shape how we scale our business while fostering collaboration across teams.

Growth at Cohesity has come from being challenged, trusted, and supported. I've been given opportunities to solve new problems, lead cross-functional initiatives, and continuously expand my skills as both the company and our business have evolved.

Latinx Heritage Month and belonging at work

Aline

Latinx Heritage Month is deeply personal to me because it is a moment to honor where we come from: our families, our languages, our traditions, our struggles, and our achievements.

Professionally, it is also a powerful reminder that representation matters. When people see their culture recognized inside the company, they feel more connected to the business, to each other, and to the future we are building together. It tells employees: your background is not something you need to leave outside the workplace; it is part of the strength you bring to it.

Beatriz

Latinx Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the richness, diversity, and contributions of the Latin American community. As someone from Brazil working in a global organization, it's meaningful to see our cultures, perspectives, and experiences recognized and valued.

Filipe

For me, support hasn't been one big moment. It's been the gradual feeling that I can speak about my life with the same ease that everyone else does.

I can mention my partner in a conversation without feeling that I need to explain anything. I can bring my perspective as someone from Brazil into a global discussion and know it has a place there.

That's what genuine support has looked like for me: the freedom to be present as a whole person.

Vida, community and leadership

Filipe

Vida has given me a way to connect my work with something I care about personally. As Communications Chair, I help bring attention to the experiences and perspectives of our Latin American colleagues.

Working across countries and cultures, I've seen how easy it is for someone's perspective to be missed, even when they have a lot to contribute. Vida gives us a place to notice that, talk about it, and help more people be part of the conversation.

Beatriz

Vida creates a sense of belonging. It provides a space where we can connect, learn from one another, and celebrate what makes us unique.

One of the biggest lessons we've learned as a community is that engagement doesn't always happen automatically. Sometimes, we need to positively challenge and encourage people to participate, share their stories, and celebrate their heritage.

Aline

I felt a deep responsibility to help give our Latin American voices more visibility inside Cohesity. Latin America is an incredibly rich region, full of cultures, languages, stories, resilience, and talent.

One of the most powerful lessons we learned is that belonging cannot be built for people; it has to be built with them. It moved Vida from participation to ownership, from events to experiences, and from a community led by a few people to a community shaped by many voices.

In sales, I lead teams to deliver results, create opportunities, and serve customers with excellence. In Vida, I help create a space where people feel invited to contribute and lead. Those two experiences strengthen each other. Vida has expanded my leadership beyond business outcomes; it has reminded me that culture is also a growth strategy.

Cohesity has given me the opportunity to grow as a sales leader, as a community leader, and as someone who can represent Latin America with pride, gratitude, and purpose.

Key takeaways:

Growth comes from trust. People at Cohesity are challenged and supported to solve new problems and build new skills, including AI, whatever their role.

Career and community grow together. Leading a belonging community has helped these leaders grow, because culture is also a growth strategy.

Belonging is built with people, not for them. The strongest communities are shaped by many voices, not a few.

Bring your whole self to work. Your background and perspective are part of the strength you bring.

Closing:

Latinx Heritage Month runs for one month, but the conversations in this story don't end on October 15. The testimonies of Beatriz, Filipe, and Aline show us that when people feel they belong, they grow, they lead, and they bring others with them. We’re grateful to all three for sharing their stories, and to the members of Vida and all our Belonging Communities who help make Cohesity a place where more people can take pride in bringing their whole selves to work.
