For the Second Time in a Row, Cohesity Recognized as a 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutions

Cohesity Again Earns the Highest Marks From Users for Its Simple, Web-Scale Platform for Secondary Data and Applications

San Jose, Calif. – Nov. 19, 2018 – Cohesity, the leader of hyperconverged secondary storage, today announced it has again been recognized as a 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customer’s Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutionsopens in a new tab. For the second consecutive time this year, Cohesity earned high marks — an average rating of 4.8 out of 5— for its secondary data solution in reviews from customers across a wide range of industries, including education, finance, government, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and transportation. Cohesity is the only vendor to have received a 4.8 rating in the February and November 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customer’s Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutions.

Cohesity scored very well, with a rating of 4.7 or higher, in the following key areas: “product capabilities,” “integration and deployment,” and “service and support.” Cohesity also scored among the highest of all vendors in terms of customers “willingness to recommend.”

Gartner defines the data center backup and recovery software marketopens in a new tab as being focused on providing backup capabilities for the upper-end midmarket and large-enterprise environments. To qualify for this designation, vendors must have at least one product that Gartner’s research analysts designate as relevant to the market category, must have 50 or more published customer reviews within the 12-month submission period, and an average overall rating of 4.2 or more.

Cohesity’s rating from 222 verified reviews averaged 4.8 stars, the highest for any vendor considered for this designation, as of November 16. One senior systems manageropens in a new tab at a finance company wrote that Cohesity provided the needed data protection capabilities while also “enhancing our data protection strategy by reducing our RPO/RTO, eliminating backup software silos and [getting] rid of our tape archive process.”

A network security/infrastructure manageropens in a new tab in education stated that after using Cohesity’s backup solution, the “backup window fell from about 22+ hours to less than three.” And a network/systems administratoropens in a new tab in government commented that with Cohesity, “backups just happen” and “as a bonus, you can use it for secondary storage.”
