NetBackup Flex 5270 appliances deliver end-to-end zero-trust security through hardened infrastructure, containerized NetBackup instances, and platform-enforced controls, including MFA, multi-person authorization (MPA), custom RBAC, platform & instance-level network access control (NAC), and integrated malware scanning. 

Optimized for Departmental and Enterprise Workloads 

  • Starting at 9.1 TiB, expandable to 991 TiB with six 2U12 expansion shelves and 20 TB drives
  • Capacity options: Choose from a configuration with 8 TB drives offering up to 408 TiB for primary backups, or a configuration with 20 TB drives providing up to 991 TiB for long-term retention (LTR). 
  • Succeeds the Flex 5260 on Gen5 Advantech platform with Intel® Xeon® Silver 4514Y (Emerald Rapids) 
  • Up to 768 GB DDR5 memory for demanding multi-tenant NetBackup deployments 
  • Four I/O models (A–D): Ethernet-only through dense Fibre Channel configurations 
  • Supports 2 TB, 8 TB, and 20 TB SAS drives across internal slots and expansion shelves 

High Performance 

The NetBackup Flex 5270 delivers up to 40 TB/hour throughput based on server-side deduplication, with a 98% deduplication rate, approximately 30% faster than the Flex 5260. 

Proactive Monitoring and Optimization 

NetInsights Console monitors key hardware components, alerts on fault events, and makes recommendations for infrastructure optimization. This helps IT teams maintain system health, reduce downtime, and ensure predictable performance.
