1. Now available: First to achieve Nutanix Ready™ Validation for Nutanix Database Service protection

Recently, Cohesity became the first data protection provider to achieve Nutanix Database Service (NDB) database protection Nutanix Ready™ validation. Receiving the Nutanix Ready™ designation signifies that the solution has undergone a series of Nutanix Ready™ interoperability validations and unique feature integrations, which give customers added confidence regarding the compatibility of the solution. Through this validation, Cohesity DataProtect now complements NDB’s native time machine capabilities and streamlines protection for PostgreSQL databases on NDB through a single control plane. This seamless integration helps provide large enterprise customers with greater resilience against growing threats. By combining Cohesity DataProtect with NDB’s native time machine capabilities, customers now have seamless protection from everyday application and user-related errors and disasters like a complete site failure or malicious attack. Additional benefits include:

• Enhanced security and multilayered cyber resilience and ransomware protection: Objects are safeguarded from being overwritten and are protected against deletion for a specified amount of time. With no single point of failure, the solution is highly resilient and fault-tolerant. It uses AES-256 and FIPS-compliant encryption of data in flight and at rest to give customers additional peace of mind that their data is protected.
• Unmatched efficiency and cost savings: Advanced deduplication and compression optimize storage efficiency and reduce data footprints.
• Improved speed and simplicity: Scale-out architecture and unlimited scalability improve backup and restore times to meet growing business needs. Customers are also able to streamline operations using Cohesity’s single-pane-of-glass to manage and define their backup strategy.

2. Now available: Cohesity Clean Room Solution in Nutanix HCI environments for improved incident response

The Cohesity Clean Room Solution provides organizations with a secure, isolated environment to recover and analyze data after a cyberattack, such as ransomware or insider threats. This helps to ensure that compromised systems are not reinfected while restoring critical business operations and enables safe forensic analysis. It also provides a trusted recovery point for “clean data” and supports regulatory compliance. Nutanix customers can now deploy the Cohesity Clean Room Solution in Nutanix HCI environments. This offers a dedicated, production-ready isolated recovery environment within Nutanix workloads, allowing for rapid data restoration and re-establishment of trust with external stakeholders in the event of a cybersecurity breach. It also facilitates near-instant business continuity while ensuring ongoing risk monitoring and mitigation. 3. Now available: Support for Nutanix AHV environments on Dell Storage

Last year, Nutanix announced Dell and Nutanix hybrid multicloud solutions to improve IT operations, resiliency, and flexibility. As part of this collaboration, Dell is offering an integrated turnkey hyperconverged appliance combining Nutanix Cloud Platform software and Dell storage. Cohesity is among the first Nutanix-certified data protection vendors to support the joint Nutanix-Dell solution, making it easier for customers using them to protect their critical data and applications from ransomware and other cybersecurity threats. 4. Coming soon: Support for Nutanix Prism Central centralized management interface for enhanced operational efficiency*

To help Nutanix customers improve their operational efficiency with growing business needs, Cohesity will soon be integrating with Nutanix Prism Central for simplified data protection and recovery across multiple Nutanix clusters—instead of registering many Prism elements and managing them individually. Benefits for Nutanix customers include:

• Unified authentication method for accessing multiple clusters within Nutanix environments
• Global search and backup of virtual machines (VMs), files and objects across multiple clusters
• Ability to restore VMs to any clusters registered to Prism Central
• Utilization of role-based access control (RBAC) to establish personalized roles tailored for backup admins
• Improved application-specific snapshot functionality using Nutanix guest tools (NGT) policies

These capabilities will significantly simplify the data protection and recovery of Nutanix workloads, save IT teams precious time and resources, and improve their user experience.

5. Coming soon: Native support for Nutanix Files environments for faster, more efficient backup and recovery*

Organizations that rely on Nutanix Files as their primary NAS need a fast, powerful, and simple backup and recovery solution that scales well to keep up with their ever-growing data. Cohesity provides a modern data protection solution that eliminates the complexities and operational inefficiencies of traditional NAS backup by unifying their data protection and recovery infrastructure—including target storage, backup, replication, disaster recovery, and cloud archiving—on a single platform. Cohesity already offers agentless, policy-based data protection, granular file-level restoration capabilities, replication, cloud archiving for Nutanix Files and is platform-independent to avoid vendor lock-in. Nutanix and Cohesity customers will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of native support for Nutanix Files environments, including:

• Incremental backup with Change File Tracking: Ability to use the Nutanix Change File Tracking (CFT) capability to identify the changed files during an incremental backup just by enabling “Use Nutanix Change File tracking” in the Protection Group’s advanced settings. The Nutanix Change File tracking is an internal Nutanix Files job engine that quickly identifies the file and folder differences between any two snapshots.
• Auto protect new shares: With the auto protection capability, Cohesity will automatically detect and protect each new shares user adds to their Nutanix storage, saving them from manually configuring the Cohesity Protection Group to back up the new shares each time they add them.
• Choose backup scope: Ability to back up their Nutanix Files data at the cluster or File Server Virtual Machine (FSVM) levels. With cluster-level backup, users will be able to discover all the shares across different FSVMs of the cluster to back up. With FSVM-level backup, users will be able to find the shares at the FSVM level to back up.
• Encrypt backup traffic between Nutanix and Cohesity: Ability to encrypt backup traffic between Nutanix and Cohesity by enabling encryption in the Protection Group’s advanced settings.

6. Coming soon: Cohesity Gaia on Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box for faster, smarter data insights*
