Cohesity is honored to join Anthropic’s Project Glasswing (Claude Mythos Preview) to strengthen cyber resilience

Cyber resilience is an essential operational discipline.

Cohesity Anthropic

We recently shared that Cohesity has been admitted by Anthropic to Project Glasswing, the collaborative effort to secure the world’s most important software in the AI era. It’s critical that our software, which thousands of the world’s most consequential organizations depend on for resilience, is free of vulnerabilities and hardened against exploitation.

We previously outlined how Cohesity approaches product security: secure‑by‑design development, continuous testing, vulnerability management, all aided by the responsible use of AI. As part of Project Glasswing, we will continue to apply the most advanced tools like Mythos preview to help protect our software and our customers.

We will continue to provide updates to our customers on our ongoing efforts to scan our codebase and remediate issues using the latest frontier models.

Meeting the moment

The availability of frontier models with advanced cybersecurity capabilities ushers in a world where attackers will be able to move at machine speed. Organizations must assume that attackers have access to potent tools and incidents will occur despite our best efforts as an industry. Traditional approaches to iteratively scan, fix, and patch vulnerabilities will simply not be able to keep up.

And while defenders will also apply AI to assist in their efforts, in an agentic world of escalating attacks against an attack surface where vulnerabilities are more easily discovered and exploited, prevention and detection must be supplemented by robust response and recovery capabilities.

Cohesity was built for an era like this, not because we anticipated an agentic world, but because we developed an industry-leading zero-trust platform, purpose-built for supersonic speed of recovery. The combination of advanced security with unmatched recovery velocity is why more than 70% of the Fortune Global 500 rely on Cohesity for their cyber resilience. We protect more than 200 exabytes of data from the world’s largest banks, public sector entities, healthcare providers, telcos, tech companies, energy operators, and more.

In this new world, cyber resilience is an essential operational discipline, and an adaptation of the famous Benjamin Franklin saying is appropriate: “An ounce of resilience is better than a pound of detection.”

5 Steps for Cyber Resilience Image

Cohesity offers a five-step framework to help IT teams move from disruption to controlled, confident recovery:

Step 1: Discover and protect all data: Ensure that all sensitive data, wherever it lives, is known and backed up.

Step 2: Ensure data is always recoverable: Enforce immutability, implement cyber vaulting, and apply strict administrative safeguards to guarantee access to backups under attack conditions.

Step 3: Detect and investigate threats: Continuously scan and analyze backup data for indicators of compromise and ensure only clean data is brought back to production.

Step 4: Practice application resilience: Implement orchestration and perform recovery rehearsals to validate and improve successful recovery outcomes.

Step 5: Optimize data risk posture: Use DSPM and data classification to understand exposure and prioritize critical data for recovery.

AI will also play an increasingly important role in refining and accelerating the execution of these steps over time. But organizations that believe a complex operating environment can be "preemptively recovered" underestimate the relentless effort required across people, processes, and technology to achieve and maintain true cyber resilience.

Resilience is measured in recovery outcomes

For Security and IT Operations teams, success is defined by:

  • How fast systems that underpin viable operations are restored.
  • How confidently data is validated as clean.
  • How trusted the environments returned to production are.

By operationalizing a structured resilience framework, IT organizations can further move from reactive response to rapid, repeatable, deterministic recovery, and continuity of operations even as attack velocity increases. That’s what real resilience looks like in practice. And it’s more essential than ever in the AI era. Cohesity is here to help you.
