Why I Joined Cohesity: Customer Obsession

“I’ve been able to sleep at night.”

That’s what Erik Toft of Verizon subsidiary XO Communications says about Cohesity. No small feat given the importance of the data he’s managing and protecting for some of his government customers. With Cohesity, he achieved a 60% reduction in TCO and eliminated hiring 5 new administrators to manage new infrastructure just for this need.

This is just one example of how we are dedicated to our customers’ success, something Erik also gave us props for. Cohesity helps organizations protect their most valuable data, do more with it, and transform their data center operations so they can rest easy.

Ultimately it’s all in service of helping you spend more time fulfilling your company’s primary mission. As XO Communications does providing critical infrastructure to government and enterprise, Valley Proteins does solving environmental challenges, and University of California, Santa Barbara does educating our youth – to name just a few.

As the new marketing leader at Cohesity, customer obsession is one of the major reasons I was attracted to the company. Now a lot of companies say they are customer centric, but we all know it’s really just…marketing.

It’s different here. How?

Well, based on our customers’ feedback to a 3rd party, which scores customer service and support, we received the NorthFace ScoreBoard award for excellence in customer service. We are proud to join the ranks of Avaya, CA Technologies, Citrix, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Nutanix. This is no small feat for a young company in only its 6th quarter of delivering the Cohesity DataPlatform. And a mark of the high bar we set for ourselves as you entrust us with your company’s most valuable asset – your data. Something that can keep you up nights and weekends if your infrastructure goes down or isn’t working properly.

So what do I look forward to in 2018 as I join Cohesity? Amplifying amazing stories of:

  • Remarkable new ways to store, manage, protect and gain insights from your data
  • Disruptive innovation in hyperconverged secondary storage
  • Incredible achievements in data center transformation

And, definitely more people like Erik getting more sleep and their weekends back.

As Cohesity’s inaugural chief marketing officer (CMO), Lynn Lucas will oversee global marketing and continue to drive customer adoption and brand awareness as the company expands across the US and international markets. The appointment follows a breakthrough year of milestone Cohesity achievements, including a 600 percent year-over-year increase in revenue.
