San Jose, Calif. – January 5, 2021 – Cohesity today announced it has added Silicon Valley veteran
Robin Matlock to its board of directors. Matlock brings more than 30 years of marketing, sales, and business development experience to the board spanning a variety of markets including enterprise software, cloud services, and security.
Matlock most recently served as chief marketing officer (CMO) at VMware, a position she held for seven years. During her eleven years with the company, she helped shape the company’s business and go to market strategy and played a key role in scaling the company’s revenues from $2B to $11B.
Before joining VMware, Matlock was executive vice president and general manager at the data security company Imperva. Prior to that, she spent more than five years at McAfee, serving in several roles including vice president of product marketing and senior vice president of field marketing. Matlock currently serves as an independent director with information management company Iron Mountain. She is an executive advisor to People.ai, a revenue acceleration startup, and Calamu, a disruptive data security company.
“I am excited to join the Cohesity Board of Directors at this unique point in the company’s journey,” said Matlock. “The company continues to experience rapid growth and adoption at an impressive pace. At the same time, Cohesity is poised to gain tremendous market share as it rapidly scales its portfolio to include data management innovations in cloud, SaaS, compliance, and security. “We are thrilled to add Robin to our board of directors as she brings extensive expertise and a long track record of success in areas that are highly relevant to our business,” said Mohit Aron, founder and chief executive officer, Cohesity. “She will play a key role in helping guide Cohesity in the next phase of our growth as we continue to disrupt the data management market and grow our as a service offerings.”

Cohesity ushers in a new era in data management that solves a critical challenge facing businesses today: mass data fragmentation. The vast majority of enterprise data — backups, archives, file shares, object stores, and data used for dev/test and analytics — sits in fragmented infrastructure silos that make it hard to protect, expensive to manage, and difficult to analyze. Cohesity consolidates silos onto one web-scale platform, spanning on-premises, cloud, and the edge, and uniquely empowers organizations to run apps on that platform — making it easier than ever to back up and extract insights from data. Cohesity is a 2019 CNBC Disruptor and was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. Visit our website and blog, follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn and like us on Facebook.
