Additionally, a new validated joint solution was announced featuring Cohesity DataProtect and Dell ObjectScale as a backup archive target.
Cohesity and Dell Technologies share a commitment to developing solutions to help strengthen cyber resilience and simplify cyber recovery for our customers. Our existing collaboration brings together Dell PowerProtect Data Domain appliances and Cohesity NetBackup to help organizations protect their critical data assets and recover quickly when they need to. Now, we are announcing a new, validated solution featuring Cohesity DataProtect that uses Dell ObjectScale as a backup archive target.
Cohesity DataProtect helps ensure that all business-critical data is protected and secured—while strengthening cyber resilience with built-in ransomware detection and rapid recovery capabilities. Dell ObjectScale provides scalable, software-defined object storage with S3 compatibility, enabling cost-effective, high-performance storage for modern applications and backup targets.
By combining Cohesity DataProtect with Dell ObjectScale as a central backup archive, organizations have more options for data protection and security, such as granular control over how many copies of their data are stored, where these copies are stored, and what performance/cost ratios are best for each copy. The combined solution simplifies backup and recovery, reduces costs, and allows for business continuity.
Today we are also reaffirming our commitment to joint customers of Dell PowerProtect Data Domain and Cohesity NetBackup, including support for Dell’s new Data Domain All-Flash appliance. This integration also extends to enhanced NetBackup malware scanning for data within Data Domain.
At the heart of our Data Domain and NetBackup integration is DD Boost, a data service that works directly within the NetBackup application. DD Boost streamlines backup operations and offers benefits like deduplication, increased efficiency, and centralized management.
This integration is a cornerstone of our joint commitment to providing superior cyber resilience.
“Choosing the right cyber resilience strategy is non-negotiable when it comes to safeguarding an organization’s most valuable asset—their data,” said Travis Vigil, senior vice president, ISG Product Management, Dell Technologies. “The powerful combination of integrating Dell and Cohesity solutions provides customers with unmatched efficiency, seamless integration and a future-proof approach to cyber resilience.”
According to the recent Cohesity Global Cyber Resilience Report, 76% of organizations reported experiencing at least one material cyberattack—defined in the survey as an incident that caused measurable financial, reputational, operational, or customer churn impact. More than ever, IT and security teams need strong alliances between trusted suppliers. At Dell and Cohesity, we firmly believe and are demonstrating that cyber resilience is a team sport.
