The latest releases expand coverage across virtualization, cloud databases, SaaS, and developer platforms, and bring unified protection to sovereign cloud regions.
Infrastructure keeps evolving, attackers keep adapting, and regulators keep raising the bar. We keep innovating so your business stays resilient through all of it.
That’s what Cohesity Data Cloud is built for: one platform to protect, secure, and gain insight into your data, wherever it lives. You can run it yourself with Cohesity DataProtect, or consume it as a fully managed service with Cohesity Cloud Services. Our latest releases extend both across the workloads you’re adopting.
These new releases broaden our extensive, industry-leading workload coverage, from multi-hypervisor support to cloud databases to DevOps repos and pipelines. They carry that resilience into sovereign clouds for government and regulated organizations. They take costs out of operating at scale, with automatic tiering of cold data. Finally, further hardening of platform security and alignment with compliance measures help keep organizations ahead of mandates.
For organizations standardized on VMware, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 is the next generation platform to run private clouds, and data protection must be in place as they upgrade.
Building on existing support for standard virtual machines, Cohesity now protects KubeVM workloads running on VCF9 and recovers them to the right Organization, Project, and Namespace, preserving multi-tenant boundaries and speeding recovery by eliminating manual re-registration. Customers have a single platform to protect both traditional VM and modern KubeVM workloads. Protection for KubeVM workloads on VCF9 is available in Early Access.
11:11 Systems, a managed infrastructure solutions provider which runs private clouds for its own operations and for its customers, describes the impact:
As we transition to VCF 9, we need data protection that understands not only how our internal private clouds are structured and operated, but also the cloud environments we deliver and manage for our customers. With Cohesity support for VCF Automation, recovered VMs are restored to the correct namespace and tenant context—whether they support our own operations or a customer environment. This bridges the gap between simply restoring a VM and fully restoring the service it supports.”
Our latest releases also deliver meaningful enhancements for customers running Red Hat OpenShift environments. Cohesity is delivering incremental backups with QEMU Change Block Tracking. The results are shortened backup windows, optimized storage capacity, and fast recovery across hundreds of VMs as OpenShift environments scale. This capability is available in Early Access.
No matter which hypervisor platform you choose, Cohesity has your virtualized workloads covered.
Governments and regulated enterprises are keeping their most sensitive workloads on infrastructure they control. These releases extend cloud-native protection to AWS European Sovereign Cloud, Google Cloud Dedicated, and Oracle Alloy, so you can run data protection inside your authorized cloud boundaries and keep backup and recovery within jurisdiction. Initial support covers cloud-agnostic workloads such as SQL, NAS, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), with cloud-native workloads such as AWS EC2 and GCE VMs planned for follow-on releases.
Cloud and SaaS providers keep their services running, but protecting your data is your responsibility. Our latest releases extend protection to more of the places your data lives.
Cloud databases. DataProtect adds AWS Neptune, Redshift (cluster and serverless), and DocumentDB, and extends AWS and Azure database services into government cloud regions. Cloud Services is expected to add eight database engines as a fully managed service:
Source code, DevOps, and collaboration tools. Code is some of your most critical IP. These releases add backup and recovery for GitHub and Azure DevOps repositories, helping minimize data loss and disruption to your software development pipeline. Cloud Services will add GitHub Backup and Recovery as a fully managed alternative, along with Atlassian Confluence, extending protection to spaces, pages, and attachments alongside existing Jira coverage.

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. For M365, threat scanning across Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive is now generally available. Cloud Services will also move archive mailbox protection from Exchange Web Services (EWS) to Microsoft Graph APIs, and multi-geo support will help multinational organizations meet data-residency needs. DataProtect also migrates M365 protection from EWS to Graph APIs without requiring any change to your policies.
Scope Microsoft 365 protection to the geographies that matter for your data-residency and compliance requirements.
For Google Workspace, Cloud Services will extend protection beyond Gmail and Drive to Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks.
Data center workloads. DataProtect also adds protection for DB2 databases on AIX and Qumulo NAS shares and exports.
Whenever you modernize production, you have to modernize protection. From new hypervisors to new sovereign clouds and the DevOps repositories in between, it has never been more important that your resilience solution stacks protect the breadth of your most modern workloads; and yet, that's never been harder given the heterogeneous environments that enterprises rely on today. These latest announcements demonstrate how Cohesity continues to address those challenges."
Backup and snapshot costs are a fast-growing hidden line item on cloud bills. For customers running Cohesity clusters on Google Cloud, DataProtect adds support for registering a Google Cloud Storage bucket with Autoclass enabled as an external target, for both primary and secondary storage. Autoclass automatically transitions backup and archive data between storage tiers based on real-time access patterns, so there's no manual lifecycle policy to configure and no retrieval penalty surprises. This allows customers to reduce storage costs on backup and archive data.
Enable Autoclass in Google Cloud as an external target, so lifecycle management and tiering happen automatically.
FIPS 140-3 validation is now the baseline requirement for US federal government procurement. And starting January 1, 2027, the NSA's CNSA 2.0 suite requires all new national security system acquisitions to support post-quantum cryptography.
Cohesity puts you ahead of these requirements. FIPS 140-3 is now enabled by default on the host OS without requiring manual configuration or separate hardening steps, so regulated deployments can meet compliance requirements out of the box. Post-quantum cryptography for TLS via OpenSSL 3 protects encrypted communications against future threats. We've also added CyberArk integration, enabling privileged credential management for your backup infrastructure. New automated certificate revocation and renewal management reduce the operational risk of certificate-related outages.
