Cohesity on the road—Find us at an AWS Global Summit near you

Learn about the latest innovations to secure and protect data in AWS.

As more and more data lives in the public cloud, the challenges to keeping data secure in the face of cybercriminals have never been more daunting.

For years, Cohesity and AWS have worked together to help organizations like yours strengthen resilience and reduce risk by helping protect and recover your critical data stored across various AWS cloud services.

The Cohesity Cloud Services (CCS) portfolio—which provides backup and recovery, cyber vaulting, threat detection, data classification, and many other data management services as a service—is built on AWS on the backend. This enables businesses to strengthen protection for their AWS cloud-native apps and data and easily migrate to the AWS cloud.

But securing and managing data is a task that’s never done. We’re excited to bring the latest innovations for the AWS community to the series of AWS Global Summits in the months ahead.

Whether it’s Paris, Sydney, London, Washington, D.C., or NYC, we’re looking forward to meeting you and talking about what we have to offer.

What’s new? Faster, more efficient S3 backup

Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a service already supports backup and recovery of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)—you know this.

Did you know we recently introduced enhanced protection of Amazon S3 workloads? This enables faster, more efficient backup and recovery of large volumes of Amazon S3 data on the order of multibillion objects, without needing a separate SaaS connector.

The enhanced solution enables our customers to efficiently scale their backups to support billions of Amazon S3 Standard, S3 Standard-IA, S3 Intelligent Tiering, and S3 OneZone IA tier workloads. It also supports bucket-level recovery and granular recovery at the prefix-level, which makes it easier and faster to search and recover specific data without having to recover the entire bucket.

To simplify sizing and procurement, Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a service is licensed by backend TB capacity (BETB). Customers who have an Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) with AWS can further simplify procurement by purchasing Cohesity through the AWS marketplace and burn down their AWS spend commits without having to create additional budgets for data protection.

Check out this demo to see how you can use Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a service to protect and recover an AWS S3 bucket.

Cohesity Gaia integration with Amazon Bedrock expected in the coming months

At AWS re:Invent 2023, we announced signups for an early access program for the integration of Cohesity’s AI framework with Amazon Bedrock.

As a first step to making this vision a reality for our customers, we recently announced Cohesity Gaia, a first-to-market AI-powered enterprise search assistant that brings retrieval augmented generation (RAG) AI and large language models (LLMs) to high-quality backup data within Cohesity environments. The conversational AI assistant enables users to ask questions and receive answers by accessing and analyzing their vast pools of enterprise data. When coupled with the Cohesity Data Cloud, these AI advancements transform data into knowledge and can help accelerate the goals of an organization while keeping data secure and compliant.

To see Cohesity Gaia in action, watch this demo or check out the video below to hear what Ryan Reed, head of IT Products and Services at JSR Corporation, had to say about Cohesity Gaia after testing it. Get qualified for a free trial of Cohesity Gaia to try it out yourself.

Protecting critical AWS data: real customer results

Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a service has proved time and again to be the preferred backup-as-a-service (BaaS) solution for our customers’ AWS workloads. Check out these numbers:

The numbers above are just some of the benefits that our customers have realized. Cohesity customers also enjoy:

  • Reduced security risk: Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a service creates an isolated copy of AWS data in a Cohesity-managed tenant. That way, even if the production environment data is compromised or unavailable, the operationally air-gapped data copy within Cohesity-managed BaaS stays secure.
  • Unified data protection for hybrid workloads: Cohesity DataProtect supports backup of AWS workloads (Amazon EC2, RDS, S3), SaaS applications, and on-prem data (VMs, DBs, bare metal, etc.), providing a single platform to manage and monitor threats across all these data sources, no matter where they reside.
  • Optimized AWS spend: Cohesity backups have a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to native AWS snapshots thanks to our best-in-class data reduction, deduplication, and simplified management. What’s more, AWS customers can retire spend commits by purchasing DataProtect delivered as a service from the AWS marketplace, using funds that might have otherwise gone unused.
